The medal is a metallic wreath with a five sided double pointed star laying over it, the portrait in the middle of a circle in the middle of the cross is of Marianne's head (She is a national emblem of France that personifies liberty and reason). The inscription: "Republique Francaise" is inscribed in the middle circle of the star. There is a crown of laurels that joins the cross and the ribbon. Photographs of the front and reverse sides of a silver medal from 5,000,000 women of the Alliance universelle des femmes pour Ia paix par l'education given to Mr. Carnegie for the inauguration of the Palace of Peace. Andrew Carnegie donated money for the Peace Palace. Includes buildings that house the Permanent Court of Arbitration, International Court of Arbitration and the Peace Palace Library. The reverse side bears the inscription in French: "Au nom de 5 millions de femmes au bienfaiteur de la paix mondiale, Andrew Carnegie, pour l'inauguration du Palais de la Paix a la Haye, 30 juillet, 1907."
