About This Collection

This collection contains the warrants issued to people in lieu of money, and compiled together after being redeemed for specie when the state was able to supply it. The warrants provide such information as the warrant and account numbers, the amount of the warrant and interest, the warrant holder and the date of issue. Images are arranged numerically by warrant number. This collection is part of the Office of the Comptroller General which was created in 1782.
