A record of meetings held by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. A majority of the minutes are from quarterly meetings. Formats vary, including bound volumes of official minutes (1897-1984, volumes #1-18); blueback individual packets and groupings of unofficial minutes, mainly photocopy and carbon copy duplicates (1930-1994); minutes and related records (1913-2004), and meeting files (1992-2004). Each entry provides the date, time, and place of the meeting; name of presiding officer and members present; a summary, including committee reports, motions taken, items discussed, resolutions approved, and votes made on proposals; time of adjournment; and on official copies, the signature of the officer who recorded the minutes. Topics considered include applications for licenses, revocations, petitions and complaints, land sales (acquisitions), personnel actions, game seasons and bag limits, and similar matters relating to the management of state game and refuge lands. Additional reports to the Commission include Personnel and Training, Budget, and Legislative Committees; as well as Divisions of Research, Propagation, Land Management, Minerals, Law Enforcement, Administration, and Conservation Education; in some cases, committee reports are attached. Official minutes (1897-1984) include typed marginalia on resolutions with key words. In some cases, carbon copies and photocopies of minutes (1930-1994) include handwritten notes and edits, and occasionally include a commissioner's name at the top; in some cases, photocopies appear to be drafts of the official minutes. Meeting files (1992-2004) are varied, and generally include: agenda, minutes, official transcripts of the meeting, testimony, correspondence, sign-in sheets, news clippings, photographs, maps, letters from concerned citizens and groups, committee and regional reports, findings of fact, budget proposals, public comments, and occasionally notational votes. In some instances, meeting files contain only transcripts of meetings rather than official minutes.
