About This Collection

"This series contains meeting minutes of the State Veterans Commission, as well as meeting handouts, statistical reports done by the Commission and budget reports. Also present are correspondence and other Commission administrative materials. The incoming and outgoing correspondence is primarily with officers of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and other state and federal veterans agencies. Other administrative files in the series include Senate and House bills relating to the Commission, audits, news releases, photographs, questionnaires and resumes for prospective Commission members. This collection is part of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs which is responsible for administering the Pennsylvania National Guard, and administers various programs of assistance to veterans.
