About This Collection
The minutes contain the official record of the Valley Forge Park Commission meetings. Information included about each meeting includes the date, time, location, and members present. Pursuant to the powers and duties given the Commissioners under Act of 1893 and continuing under Act of 1923, Commission discussions relate to matters involving the preservation, improvement, and maintenance of the park's grounds. The Superintendent's monthly report is regularly included with the minutes from 1914 through 1977. Volumes 32 and 33 overlap, with differing spacing. Records are arranged chronologically by date of meeting. This collection is part of the Valley Forge Park Commission which was created in 1893 to preserve, improve and maintain the space as a public park, and to make its historically important sites accessible.
