About This Collection

This collection contains daily record of business conducted by the governors office concerns the issuing of appointments and commissions of office, general gubernatorial proclamations, pardons for prisoners, warrants and requisitions for extradition of prisoners. Records are arranged chronologically by date of entry. The Department of State is headed by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, whose office was established under the Constitution of 1776.
