About This Collection

This collection series contains account sheets filed with the Comptroller General, which record fees received by the Court of Admiralty in Philadelphia. Included in these records are the names of ships, their port of origin, and the names of their commanders. The reasons for the fees imposed, the amount of the fees, and the date which they were collected are also listed. Each account sheet is arranged chronologically by the date which fees were collected. Images are unarranged. This collection is part of the Office of the Comptroller General which was created in 1782.
