A pamphlet which reprints Kelley's speeches to the people in New Orleans and Montgomery, Alabama, in which he urges reconciliation to the Union for these former rebel states, and praises their attitudes toward former slaves. It also contains his speech to his own constitutents in Philadelphia, in which he speaks of an attack on himself by a mob in Mobile Alabama, which he blames on the assessor sent there, a Colonel Mann, whom he says has raised a mob of Irishmen against him. Kelley later speaks of his other travels in the South, and asks that the Northerners be willing to reconcile with the people of the former rebel states.
