This report and the maps accompanying it represent a war-time emergency study and are in most respects a preliminary treatment of the oil fields of southwestern Pennsylvania. The area treated in this report is in southwestern Pennsylvania and includes the Burgettstown, Carnegie, Claysville, Amity, Rogersville, and Waynesburg quadrangles, and the northern portions of the Mannington and Blacksville quadrangles.
