Pennsylvania Horticultural Society - Philadelphia Flower Show

The 2014 Flower Show entry by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) takes its inspiration from an extraordinary, contemporaneous exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, “Treasures from Korea, Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty, 1392-1910.” During the 2014 show with its theme “ARTiculture,” exhibitors worked in collaboration with museums and artists to create exhibits inspired by artworks. This exhibit won the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show Cup, Best Floral - Best in show award, for the highest-scoring Floral major exhibit in the show.

The Camden Children’s Garden exhibit “Fun With Art in a Children’s Community Garden” at the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show was a 400-square foot garden with flowers, vegetables, repurposed tires, a painted fence and a rusted bicycle with baskets filled with flowers. It won the American Horticultural Society Education Award, the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania Special Achievement Award, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Special Achievement Award and the Alfred M. Campbell Memorial Trophy for Major Educational Exhibit Award.

The Entrance Garden of the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show was inspired by the work of Alexander Calder.

2014 Flower Show Class 136, Store Windows entry by the Garden Club of Wilmington garnered a first prize, and was admired by Show guests for its sly creativity.

At the 2014 PHS Garden to Table Studio, participating chefs showed off their culinary skills by using garden – fresh bounty in imaginative and inspirations ways.

At the 2014 Show with its theme “ARTiculture” guest designer James Basson from France was invited to work with Stoney Bank Nurseries to execute an exhibit inspired by a painting from the private collection of the Prince of Monaco. The painting known as 'Untitled' was done by Albert Diato, who was a contemporary of Picasso. The exhibit was not only designed to represent the painting, but the artist as well.
