Al Vick, of Vick's Wildgardens in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, exhibited at the show for more than 60 years, until 1993. His exhibits celebrated native wild flowers and woodland settings, evoking calm and tranquility for appreciative show visitors. An avid amateur photographer, Vick was often seen with camera and tripod photographing the show during early morning set-up hours

Bucks County exhibitor Daniel Kepich clipped a bloom for his daughter at his 1990 show exhibit titled A Bit of Tranquility. His landscape exhibits often featured exquisite rhododendrons and azaleas, ferns and woodland flowers, complemented by rock and water. He always incorporated ideas that visitors could use in their own backyards.

Seen in a composite photograph, the Philadelphia Electric Company building lit up the sky with the 1990 show dates. PECO (formerly Philadelphia Electric Company) has helped promote the Flower Show since 1970 by emblazing the dates in lights around the top of its building at 2301 Market Street. The company now uses a more energy-efficient LED lighting system.

The miniature settings in 1990 focused on that year's Monaco theme. An entry by Anne Vallery, Gia DeGenova, and Barbara Olejnik in the Miniature Setting class, A Day on the Town, was whimsically titled Weed Rather Be at a Matinee in Monaco. The judges praised this blue-ribbon-winning exhibit for its rhythmic design and lyrical feeling.

“Garden Treasures, Community Pleasures” was the 1990 PHS Philadelphia Green Flower Show exhibit. Found objects including whimsical tubs and containers and golden wildflowers weaving a “ribbon of gold” constitute some of the garden treasures to be discovered and admired in the over 700 community gardens in Philadelphia.
