Wilkes University - Wilkes University Audio Recordings

This is an audio recording of President Richard M. Nixon's visit to Wilkes College on September 9th, 1972 to present a $4 million check to the college to assist in flood recovery after the Hurricane Agnes flood on June 22-23rd, 1972. The Nixon visit is recorded for 7-8 minutes and is followed by an audio recording of Dr. Francis J. Michelini receiving the Henry D. Paley Memorial Award for "Outstanding Advocacy Service to American Higher Education" awarded by the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities on February 7th, 1991, with guest speaker Senator Edward M.
