Central and Union schools, northeast corner of Third Avenue and Hickory Street, circa 1890. Central, at left, was added in 1871 to the older Union building, built in 1854 and razed in 1900. Central was home to high school students until construction of Warren High School in 1897 but continued in use as an elementary school until razed in 1936 to make way for a new municipal building.

The Judge Rasselas Brown House, northeast corner of Hazel Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, was built in 1866 and razed in 1906. It was replaced that year with a home built by Charles Jameson, which in 1949 became the offices of the Warren Medical group. This picture dates to ca 1890.

Ludlow House hotel, southeast corner of Market Street and Second Avenue, in the 1890s. The former Warren High School was built here in 1897 and removed in 1960 for construction of Market Street School.

High water on the millrace log pond and The Island in the 1890s. The waterworks stack is at center on a site occupied much later by the former Loranger Plastics firm. The latter building remains in 2004, rehabilitated as part of the Impact Warren project.

Pennsylvania Railroad bridge (originally covered) in the west end at the depot, circa 1890 (1894?). Built in 1859 and 1860 and replaced in 1896.

At the center is St. Joseph's Church and the large open space at center right contains the yards of the Dunkirk, Allegheny Valley & Pittsburgh railroad.

North side of Second Avenue just west of Liberty Street in 1869, after several frame buildings had been razed prior to construction of a row of brick business blocks. The spire tops the First Baptist Church on Liberty Street just north of Third Avenue. To its right is the dome of the Union School building on Third Avenue east of Hickory Street.
