Coal barges in mouth of Tionesta Creek, waiting for high water for the trip to Pittsburgh, circa 1900.
Brick industry, millrace
Brick factory buildings of the Piso Company on the Island (millrace in the foreground) ca 1900. At right is the race bridge at the foot of Liberty Street. This site is now (2004) occupied in part by a large municipal parking garage.
Banks, Buildings
The Citizens National Bank building at the northeast corner of Hickory Street and Pennsylvania Avenue ca 1900. Built in 1888 it is now (2004) occupied by Community Consumer Discount Company and other commercial tenants.
Oil wells, Rivers, Hotels
The glade oil fields on the Allegheny River just beyond the Glade bridge and the Allegheny Hotel, 1885.
Carts and wagons, People, Horses
Pittsfield, Pennsylvania, circa 1900. Horse-drawn cars carried sawed lumber from the McGrew mill to the Pennsylvania Railroad station. Men are unknown.

Third Avenue swinging bridge ca 1900. It was torn down in 1904. Jefferson Street School on Conewango Avenue is at right.
Bridges, Rivers
Third Avenue swinging bridge, built in 1870. Photo about 1900. Dismantled in 1904, the footbridge was replaced with an iron structure. A concrete bridge now crosses the Conewango Creek at this location.
Fire stations, Costumes, People
Watson Hose Company members at the Third Avenue fire house in Warren's city building at the southeast corner of Third Avenue and Hickory Street, ca 1900. A small Blair Corporation parking lot now (2004) occupies this space. The event and costumes are unexplained.
Schools, Buildings
The West End School, north side of Pennsylvania Avenue West, between Public Way and Morrison Street, ca 1900. Replaced by McClintock School, now the site of Warren County's Economic Opportunity Council program, across the avenue and farther west.
