Original buildings of the Warren State Hospital in about 1885. The cornerstone for Center Building was laid in 1874 and construction ended in 1880. Other buildings shown include the powerhouse and the carriage house.

View north across the Warren suspension bridge about 1905. Buildings lost to fires include the Carver House hotel in 1956 at left, the center section of the east side of Hickory Street in 1933 (the site of New Process Company), and the Exchange Hotel at far right in 1986.

Looking east in 1904 from Water Street across the Third Avenue swinging footbridge. Piers are under construction for the new steel auto bridge. The large brick building right of the bridge, on Conewango Avenue, is the Jefferson Street School.

The Island water works, circa 1910? This portion of The Island was later occupied by the Loranger manufacturing plant, now (2004) being adapted to multiple use by the city of Warren.

The Watson-Davis Block/Warren Savings Bank fire of 1889 in a view west on Second Avenue to The Point. This entire triangular block is now (2006) occupied the Northwest Savings Bank (1965) and the National City Bank (1891) buildings.

Watson Hose Company members at the Third Avenue fire house in Warren's city building at the southeast corner of Third Avenue and Hickory Street, ca 1900. A small Blair Corporation parking lot now (2004) occupies this space. The event and costumes are unexplained.

The William D. Brown house at the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and Liberty Street was built in 1867. It is shown here in 1873, in a view across the tracks of the Dunkirk, Allegheny Valley & Pittsburgh Railroad. Today (2004) the home is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Citro.
