The stone building in the foreground is Warren's second city lock-up, replacing an earlier frame building on the other side of the suspension bridge. The 1918 concrete Hickory Street bridge crossed the river at the site of the stone jail.

The Island water works, circa 1910? This portion of The Island was later occupied by the Loranger manufacturing plant, now (2004) being adapted to multiple use by the city of Warren.
