Looking west on the Allegheny River at Hickory Street ca 1910. The stone building in the foreground is Warren's second city lock-up, replacing an earlier frame building on the other side of the suspension bridge. The 1918 concrete Hickory Street bridge crossed the river at the site of the stone jail.

Dunkirk, Allegheny Valley & Pittsburgh Railroad depot at the northwest corner of Laurel Street and Fourth Avenue, built in 1893 and razed in 1939. Photo probably taken very shortly after construction, in the mid-1890s.

The Andrew Ludlow building, northeast corner of Liberty Street and Second Avenue in 1875 or slightly later. This early business block was replaced in turn by the Hoffman building (1883) and the Kresge building (1929), now (2004) the Liberty Street Marketplace. The spire in the background topped Warren's second First Presbyterian Church building (on the site of the first on Market Street). It was built in 1866.

This rig was photographed on November 5, 1879, in front of Archibald Tanner's store building on Pennsylvania Avenue west. According to the sign, its owner is headed for the Salt River Range in extreme west central Wyoming. Probably relates to the 1878 law placing a limit on paper money issued by the U.S. government.
