Interview with Boyd Caldwell Roach. Roach was born in Venetia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Peters Township High School in 1945. Roach served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and was employed by LTV Steel (J & L Steel) for 30 years.

Interview with Charles Haudenshield. Haudenshield worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until 1999 and was a volunteer firefighter for 33 years in Peters Township.

Interview with Dave Cushey. At the age of 14, Cushey began to work in the family coal mine and started his lifelong career as a coal miner in the Venetia-Hackett area.

Interview with Dave Harmon. Harmon worked in home construction and built the Peters Creek United Presbyterian Church.

Interview with Doris Trax. After graduating from Snowden High School, Trax worked as a stenographer for Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh. Later, she worked part-time at the family’s farm, Trax farms, assisting with the market.

Interview with Edward Lybarger. Lybarger worked in the hearing aid industry. After retiring, he worked for the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum.

Interview with Elma (Hayden) Johnston. Johnston was president of the Women’s Club of Peters Township, which she joined in 1959 and stayed a member until the mid-1990s. The Women’s Club established the Peters Township Library, and one of the club’s focuses is donating and assisting the library.

Interview with Erma Grego. Grego has helped maintain the history of Peters Township by creating Senior Perspective videotapes. The videos consisted of interviews with residents and are available in the Archives in the Peters Township Public Library.

Interview with Howard Jack. After serving in World War II, Jack was a teacher and high school principal in Hampton Township. He later moved to Peters Township in 1965 to be a superintendent for the school district until June 1983.

Interview with Jean McMurray-Hutchison. McMurray-Hutchison has lived in Peters Township for majority of her life and attended the original McMurray Elementary School. She worked for the Bell Telephone Company before she married. McMurray-Hutchison was a charter member of the Peters Township Grange.

Interview with John Opeka. Opeka served in World War II in the Army Air Force as a navigator. He flew in 50 combat missions, attaining the rank of captain. After moving to Peters Township, Opeka started his own auto repair business. Opeka has been active in township organizations, including the Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. He served as president of the Chamber in 1967.

Interview with Joseph Hardy. Hardy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Hardy founded 84 Lumber Company and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Interview with Martha Miller Latimore. Latimore has been a lifelong resident of Peters Township. From 1938 to 1959, she worked as a telephone operator for the McMurray Telephone Agency.

Interview with Reed Day. After serving in the Korean War, Day served as a general practitioner and school attorney for 37 years. In 1995, Day joined his son-in-law, John Brzustowicz, in his Peters Township office at the firm Day, Brzustowicz, and Malkin.

Interview with Richard Froebe. Froebe was raised in Peters Township and has spent his life working on his family farm on Froebe Road.

Interview with Robert Chamberlin. In 1976, Chamberlin designed the logo currently being used by the township as part of a bicentennial contest in the township.

Interview with Robert J Donaldson, Patricia Donaldson Stutzman, and Alice Donaldson Coffield. Robert Donaldson has compiled photographic storyboards of the Donaldson’s Crossroads and surrounding areas for the township’s history. It is one of many projects he has done to serve the community. Along with her brother, Patricia Donaldson has been a resource for the township’s history. All are lifelong residents of Peters Township.

Interview with Robert J Matthews. Matthews attended Thompsonville School, McMurray School, and Peters Township High School. Both of his parents were teachers in the school district. Matthews served in World War II and was decorated with the Silver Star for his heroism.

Interview with Thomas W McMurray. McMurray has been a lifelong resident of Peters Township. He has been an active member of the Peters Township Ambulance Service and served as a Peters Township School Director from 1983 to 2007. The Pennsylvania School Boards Association honored him for his 20 years of service.

Interview with Tina Wagner (Catherine May Dames). Wagner was a member of the McMurray Century Club, the younger generation’s version of the Women’s Club. The club fundraised money for scholarships for high school students and volunteered their time at camps for elementary school students in Peters Township.
