Book created by municipal officials to record information associated with the township’s administration. Entries consist of: Election results from 1806 to 1865. Includes election dates (typically in March), names of individuals in whose homes elections were held, township positions being filled and names of those elected. Votes were taken regarding a school, a congressman and the sale of liquor, in 1825, 1842 and 1847, respectively. Auditor reports from 1803 to 1866. Includes dates of reports, reviews of the township’s financial records to determine monies owed by and to the township, and settlement thereof. These entries constitute approximately half of the book. Reports not always in chronological order. Relief authorizations from 1822 to 1829. Descriptions of hardship experienced by community members needing financial or other support from the township, and authorization of same. Stray-animal reports from 1814 to 1863. Includes dates of reports; names of individuals reporting stray horses, cattle and sheep; descriptions of the animals; and fees paid to the township. Title supplied by Contributing Institution.
