Boarding schools, Williamsport

The Boys' Industrial Home-Industrial Department. Caption reads: "The foundation was dug, the concrete foundation laid, every stone made, and carpenter work done by boys less than sixteen years of age excepting the slate on the roof-under the instruction of a master carpenter and mason, also a concrete pavement laid equal to any in the city." Home located at 614-616 East Third Street; Rev. Thomas P. S. Wilson, manager (from 1920 Boyd's Directory); in the 1930's, the site of Gummo Laundry; by 1989 building demolished.
