Colonel Seneca Galusha Simmons, unknown relationship to John Blair Linn, at the age of 53 years; born in Windsor, Vermont in 1808; son of Alfred Simmons and Deborah Perkins Simmons; graduated from West Point in 1834 and then served in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry, commissioned as Colonel of the 34th PA Regiment (5th Pennsylvania Reserves) in June 21, 1861 and mustered out on Sept. 9, 1861, then commissioned as Major in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry until his death on June 30, 1862 at Charles City Cross Roads, VA; married Elmira Adelaide (1807 – 1885) in 1834; lived in Harrisburg, PA per 1860 census; buried in Richmond National Cemetery (Henrico County, VA); handwritten text of 'Col. S. G. Simmons'

Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe, Lyman Beecher and Henry Ward Beecher (left to right), unknown relationship to John Blair Linn; Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe - born in Litchfield, Connecticut in 1811, daughter of Lyman Beecher (1775 – 1863), author and abolitionist, writer of novel ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’, died in 1896, buried in Phillips Academy (Andover, Massachusetts); Lyman Beecher - born in New Haven, Connecticut Colony in 1775, graduated from Yale University in 1797, Presbyterian clergyman and author of sermons and other published works, President of Lane Theological Seminary from 1832 – 1852, co-founder and leader of the American Temperance Society, died in 1863, buried in Grove Street Cemetery (New Haven, Connecticut); Henry Ward Beecher - born in Litchfield, Connecticut in 1813, son of Lyman Beecher (1775 – 1863), graduated from Amherst College in 1834 and Lane Seminary in 1837, clergyman, social reformer, writer and speaker, supported the abolition of slavery, women’s suffrage and temperance, died in 1887, buried in Green-Wood Cemetery (Brooklyn, NY)
