Linn (1852 - 1925), Anna B. Linn Sterner (1855 – 1882), Margaret Wilson Linn (1857 - 1896), Mary B. Linn Vanalstine (1860 - 1942), Merrill Reno Linn (1861 - 1918), Frank Sterner Linn (1864 - 1938), and Charles Ernest Linn (1866 - 1922); died in 1887; buried in Great Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery (Malvern, Chester County, PA)

James Merrill Linn (right) and Mary Ellen Billmeyer Linn (left), John Blair Linn's brother and sister-in-law, at the approximate ages of 37 years and 28 years, respectively; James Merrill Linn - born in Lewisburg, PA in 1833, son of James Fleming Linn (1802 – 1869) and Margaret Irvin Wilson Linn (1804 – 1868), married Mary Ellen Billmeyer (1842 – 1926) in 1867, lawyer, mustered in April 20, 1861 as 2nd Lieutenant in Company G, 4th Infantry, mustered out July 27, 1861, mustered in Nov. 16, 1861 as Captain and commander of Company H, 51st PA Regiment, resigned on April 14, 1864, and died in 1897; Mary Ellen Billmeyer - born in Lewisburg, PA in 1842, daughter of Philip Billmeyer (1814 – 1885) and Susannah Follmer Billmeyer (1821 – 1874), and died in 1926; the parents of Philip Billmeyer Linn (1869 - 1927); both buried in Lewisburg Cemetery (Lewisburg, PA)

Philip Benner Wilson, John Blair Linn's brother-in-law, perhaps in his late 40's; born in Chillisquaque Mills, Northumberland County, PA in 1822; son of Samuel Hunter Wilson (1793 – 1841) and Mary H. Roberts Benner Wilson (1795 – 1850); brother of Mary E. D. Wilson Linn, second wife of John Blair Linn; mustered in Aug. 18, 1861 at Harrisburg, PA as Captain of Company F, 59th Regiment, 2nd Pennsylvania Cavalry for a 3-year term of service (Company F was recruited in Centre County, PA); promoted to Major of the regiment on Oct. 28, 1862; transferred to the 1st Provisional Cavalry (combination of the 2nd PA Cavalry and the 20th PA Cavalry) on June 17, 1865 with duty at Cloud’s Mills, VA; mustered out July 13, 1865; after war involved first with John Irwin, Jr. in the hardware business and then with Thomas Hicks (Wilson & Hicks), both businesses in Bellefonte, PA; Colonel of the 5th Regiment National Guard of Pennsylvania; unmarried; died in Bellefonte, Centre County, PA in 1878; buried in Union Cemetery (Bellefonte, PA)
