Wilson College World War II Collection documents the experience of Wilson alumnae through correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia from the time. The Collection primarily features the correspondence between Eunice "Bobby" Carpen Johnston '42 and her husband, Warren, a language officer stationed in the Marianas and the materials of Elizabeth McGeorge Sullivan '38 who served as a WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilot)

Darling, Just had time to call Muz before getting on the 6:30, after bucking subway crowds all the way - She is coming to see you Monday night - I will mail a card to Mrs. Couture at the station in Washington, asking her to forward all mail thru Saturday's, and water plants - did not get anymore Tribunes. Between Baltimore and DC. Hi, honey - almost there and I'm now considering how and when to buy cigars at this hour (Wash. stores close rather early) Am still absorbed in The Seventh Cross - will finish it on the next trip up. Postcards aren't very inspiring but you'll probably get another before the first letter still arrives, just to let you know at least that I'm thinking of my very own family! W.

Ens WR Johnston USNR 4709 Navy Bldg Washington D.C. Sweetie- Got my air conditioner car all right, and a seat – there are two and sometimes 3 sections to all these trains; every one crowds onto the first, though it's just a few minutes faster, so I look for the later section and nearly always get a seat. (A sailor just sat down beside me and voiced the same sentiment almost as I put the period to that sentence). The air conditioning of this car is on but inadequate and I'm streaming with perspiration. My glasses are sliding off my nose. (The foregoing to the above reaches you from Newark by courtesy of a warrant officer - thereby putting me one post ahead of you. The sailor beside me is quite friendly and loquacious. In a perfectly unresentful way he is telling me what a hole [?] is to be in for officers as well as men. He's reading that article of [D?] from [?] at the moment. Ens WR Johnston USNR 4709 Navy Bldg Washington D.C. 12:05 am -and that was one of the most uncomfortable trips I ever hope to take! I feel limp as the proverbial rag. The heat was terrific (and is more so here) and my sailor seatmate, sleeping all the way and a fat guy to begin with, had me wedged against the window. Well, it's a small price. Read up to the part about the phoenixes, some 90 pages and enjoy the book. This is the Information for Service men man's pen. Double love W.
