Side A, arranged vertically: Photo 1: Written on the photograph – Merasliamma (???) – Probably depicts three Bible women, with the central figure being recognized as M…amma. Photo 2: Kotagiri – Dr Baer’s Bungalow (written on the photograph): depicts two children and a missionary woman standing on the slope that leads up to a bungalow. Photo 3: Bullock cart (written on the photograph) – stopped along a path- probably carrying hay. — Side B, vertically arranged: Photo 1: A view of the mountains, probably from Kotagiri. Photo 2: A lady missionary standing on the stopes with 6 little children; at the edge of the picture there is a sari-clad woman. Photograph depicts part of a building, probably either the boarding school or the house of the missionary.

Side A, clockwise: Photo 1: Printed caption under the photographic print on paper (possibly a clipping from a magazine): The Rev. Murari David: For six years pastor of the Stork Memorial Church, Guntur. Now missionary pastor of Kanigiri. (Depicts the pastor in his professional clothing, standing on a leopard skin. Photo 2: Hill coolies, caption written on the photograph in ink, depicts four girls, carrying baskets on their heads. The background seems to depict a tea estate. Photo 3: Caption written on the photograph in ink: “Hill Christian Women.” Photo 4: Probably a clipping from a magazine. Carries a barely visible handwritten caption: Mohammadan School” depicts a group of girls and young women, some seated and some standing. One missionary woman is standing in the background. Some of the women standing with her seem to be from a different class. The girls who are seated are engaged in what appears to be embroidery-related activity. Photo 5: Aboard a boat? A sailor is surrounded by children, both boys and girls, some of them seated and some, standing. Photo 6: A faded photograph with no caption; depicts 2 very thin children and, a malnourished mother.
