Apfelbaum Hall, the new home of the Sigmund Weis School of Business and the Department of Communications, opened its doors in the fall of 1999. Today it is a high technology learning center for the entire campus.

The Christmas Candlelight Vigil has been an annual tradition at Susquehanna since 1966. Attended by students, faculty, staff and friends, the service begins in the dark with only one lit candle carried by the chaplain. From this single light, all of the candles are lit until the room moves from darkness to light. The University chorus is seen sharing the light in this 1996 photo.

The musical group Frontline, a vocal jazz ensemble founded and directed by Associate Professor of Music Jack Fries, is shown in front of the Blough-Weis Library performing "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" for the "CBS This Morning" show on May 20, 1996.

Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium, Lopardo, Nicholas A., Construction, Stadiums, Susquehanna University
Homecoming 1999 served as the setting for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium. Lopardo, a 1968 graduate of the University who later chaired the Board of Trustees, appears in the center of this group. The stadium would hold seating for 3,500 spectators, a concession stand, press box and an eight lane, quarter mile track. Lights would be installed in 2002, permitting night games to be played for the first time.
