Located in the basement of Bogar Hall, the Women's Resource Center opened in 1993. The center gave students a place to relax, do homework or to talk about any problems. Pamphlets on rape, abuse, careers, and family roles were available.

Under the direction of coach Mike Falat, a women's rugby football team was established at Susquehanna in 1997.

The Susquehanna University women's soccer team began its first season as a varsity sport in 1994. Prior to this it held club team status. The team was coached by Kwame Lloyd, a 1993 graduate of SU.

On October 31, 1991 the Women's Studies Minor was approved. The course of studies for the minor was created by faculty members Beverly Romberger, Mary Cianni, Jack Holt, Tim Margin, and Kathy Dalton under the direction of Don Housley, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. This course of study is still available today and focuses on the roles of women in different fields of study, from the past and the present.
