The University's music department was established in 1899 and found its first home in a brick house that once belonged to the University's fifth president, Jonathan Rose Dimm. By 1958, the department was moved to a new building, Heilman Hall, which has since been expanded and renamed the Cunningham Center for Music and Art. Seen in this 1996 image are music students at a practice session.
