The renovation and technical enhancement of the Roger M. Blough Learning Center began in 1988 with the help of funding from Robert F. and Patricia Ross Weis. The library was renamed the Blough-Weis library and this drawing depicts the front of the striking building as it appears in the present day.

Sponsored by the Student Activities Committee, the Susquehanna University Film Series was presented to the campus community on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, free of charge, in the Crusader Castle. Popular films shown in 1987 were Mask, Out of Africa, and Karate Kid II.

The cover of the 1981 orientation program, celebrating Susquehanna University's 125th year, was designed by Bill Weiser, class of 1982. The cartoon figure was also used on t-shirts, the Freshmen Shield, and the Parent Handbook.

The inauguration of Joel L. Cunningham as Susquehanna University's thirteenth president was held during Homecoming Weekend in 1985. Dr. Frank Newman, president of the Education Commission for the States, was the guest speaker.

Spring Weekend 1983 was also a celebration of Susquehanna University's 125th anniversary. The occasion was marked by many outdoor activities, performances by rock and new wave bands, as well as an aerial 125th anniversary photo.

The William R. Aikey Awards Program was presented by the Susquehanna University Student Conservation Committee and funded by the Student Government Association and the Physical Plant Department. The award was meant to encourage and promote energy awareness on campus and was given to the residence hall that decreased their kilowatt hours per month by the greatest amount.
