With its gull-wing doors open, a student unpacks items from a Delorean sports car. The Delorean was the only model ever produced by the Delorean Motor Company. In 1985, the Delorean sports car was featured in the hit movie Back to the Future staring Michael J. Fox.

Seen in this 1987 photo are the members of SHOE (Students Helping Our Elderly). Participants visited the Selinsgrove Senior Center every day to talk and play cards or bingo with the elderly. Members also provided services such as raking leaves, shoveling snow and moving furniture.

Sponsored by the Susquehanna University Artist Series, the world-renowned Vienna Choir Boys sang to a sold out crowd in the Weber Chapel Auditorium on January 26, 1982. Founded in 1498, the choir began touring the globe in 1924.

The first University Thanksgiving dinner for students was held in 1978 and quickly became an annual tradition. Faculty and staff volunteer their time to carve turkeys and serve the students a festive holiday meal. Candles, tablecloths and cloth napkins make it a truly special event. This 1985 photo shows University President Joel Cunningham serving students their Thanksgiving dinner.

For a lifetime membership fee of just $5.00, entertainment was at students' fingertips in 1985. Video Junction in downtown Selinsgrove offered video rentals for $.94. Certainly this was an enormous bargain by today's standards.

The William R. Aikey Awards Program was presented by the Susquehanna University Student Conservation Committee and funded by the Student Government Association and the Physical Plant Department. The award was meant to encourage and promote energy awareness on campus and was given to the residence hall that decreased their kilowatt hours per month by the greatest amount.
