Susquehanna University's school newspaper, The Crusader, was first formed in the fall of 1891, under the name of The Institute Journal. Susquehanna University's 5th president, Jonathan Dimm, edited the school newspaper, while faculty and students wrote the articles. Later the name was changed to The Susquehanna Journal, then just Susquehanna. Showing enthusiasm for the campus growth and change in the 1960s, the school's newspaper name was changed once again to its current name The Crusader. Pictured selling 1970-1971 subscriptions to The Crusader are Scott Truver class of 1972,and Signe Gates class of 1971. Both are current Susquehanna University Board of Trustees members.

The Housing and Boarding section of the 1970 Susquehanna University Bulletin reminds students of requirements for living on campus. It clearly states that there is no campus housing for married students. If a student marries during the academic year, he or she is required to notify the Personnel Deans and leave University housing.

Students on campus protested the Vietnam War in many ways. This announcement from the Susquehanna University Student Government Association encouraged students to protest the government’s involvement in Cambodia and the bombing of North Vietnam by missing class from May 4 through 9, 1970. Please note the encouragement for students to contact their professors for class materials.

WQSU, Radio stations, Susquehanna University
In 1961, WQSU began as a university club called the Radio Association. In the spring of 1967, the station broadcasted across the Susquehanna Valley with ten watts of power. Today the station's power has increased to 12,000 watts.
