The 1960 leap year Freshman Frolic was declared a success by The Crusader, the student newspaper. Hosted by the freshman class, the dance featured humorous entertainment with birch beer and pretzels for refreshments.

May Day celebrations continued to be an important part of campus life. The student body chose a May Day Queen along with her court. The festivities culminated with a dance sponsored by the junior class. Shown here are couples enjoying the atmosphere at the 1961 May Day dance.

The Panhellenic Council consisted of three delegates from each of the three National Panhellenic Sororities operating on campus. The goals of the Council were to promote "high social standards and sound scholarship." The Council held a pledge dance each year to welcome pledges into its membership. Shown are images from the formal affair held in 1962.

Summer 1967 was widely known as the "Summer of Love" and the hippie counter-culture was prominent in the public consciousness. Susquehanna University's campus was not beyond the reach of this new cultural turn. This image from that year shows a sign of the times as students enjoy a Greek sponsored "psychedelic" party.
