This image shows the first members of the Archery Club. Established in May 1965, the members learned the basic forms and techniques involved in the sport.

By the 1960s, Steele Science Hall had become technologically dated and was no longer able to hold all of the students taking science courses. Groundbreaking for the University's new science building took place in 1962. Built at a cost of $1,100,000, Fisher Science Hall was dedicated in 1964. This 1965 image shows Faylor Lecture Hall in the new building.
Buildings, Construction, Susquehanna University, Gustavus Adolphus Hall
Originally erected in 1894, Gustavus Adolphus Hall was destroyed by fire in 1964. Desperately in need of a new student union, the University began construction on a new student center which was completed in 1968.

The Susquehanna University College Bowl team was formed in February 1965 under the guidance of Mr. Lud Schlecht, Dr. David Wiley, Mr. Robert Bradford and Mr. James English. After its victory over a faculty team, the group went on to compete in New York City in a televised contest against the University of Wisconsin. Here are the whiz kids of Susquehanna's first College Bowl team: Polcrack, Doranne; Bacon, Ronald; Shatto, Marian; McCormick, Janie.
