This collection contains the archive of documents, photographs, and brief publications and correspondence revolving around the evolution of Susquehanna University from 1950 through 1989.

May Day, Homecomings, May queens, Susquehanna University
Post-war, May Day and Homecoming were again celebrated. This 1950 Lanthorn photo shows May Queen Joan Apple and Homecoming Sweetheart Jane Southwick. Both were selected by the student body. Joan Apple would later help to establish the Jane Conrad Apple and Joan Apple Zimmerman Fund in 1980. The fund is used to purchase books and sponsor events related to Elizabethan Studies. The Jane Conrad Apple Rare Book Room in the Blough-Weis Library was created in Jane Apple's honor.

In honor of Susquehanna University's One-Hundredth Anniversary, a book on its history was written by William S. Clark, class of 1948 and Dr. Arthur H. Wilson, Professor of English since 1931. An article from The Susquehanna Alumnus announces that the book is finished and will be ready for publication by the Susquehanna University Centennial year.

In 1950, the first woman to ever compete on Susquehanna University's Men's Tennis team was Barbara Stagg. The team was coached by her father, Amos Stagg Jr.

Fraternities & sororities, Theta Chi, Dance parties, Susquehanna University
In the 1950s, Theta Chi was the largest fraternity on campus. Its motto was " Alma Mater first and Theta Chi for alma mater." The brothers scheduled social events throughout the year. Among the most popular activities sponsored by the fraternity were the Dutch, Halloween and Christmas parties and a formal commencement dance. This 1956 image shows the brothers and their dates enjoying a Halloween dance.

In order to commemorate an undefeated season, Tau Kappa, the Women's Athletic Society, renamed its Sadie Hawkins Day Dance., and instead, the team's success was celebrated with a Victory Dance.
