In order to recognize the scholarly and creative accomplishments of faculty and staff, such as the publication of books and articles as well as presentations and performances, the first volume of Focus on Scholarship was published in 2003.

Time Capsule Ceremony

On October 4, 2008, a time capsule ceremony was held in front of Fisher Hall during Homecoming Weekend. The time capsule was placed behind the cornerstone of the new science building that was currently under construction. The contents of the time capsule were a scientific calculator, photographs of past science buildings on campus and a message from the 2009 biology students. The time capsule will be reopened in 2058.
