Students Awareness of the Value of the Environment (SAVE), Students, Susquehanna University, Community service
The group, Students Awareness of the Value of the Environment (SAVE), promotes respect for and maintenance of the environment. The club sponsors speakers and its members volunteer at the no-kill shelter Mostly Mutts, as well as the Far Point Stables horse rescue. SAVE's members pose for a picture in the 2007 Lanthorn.
Construction, Susquehanna University, Science Building
In the fall of 2008, construction began on the University's $33 million science building. The "green" design featured recycled materials in the construction, a roof top green house, water-reduction capabilities and energy-efficient HVAC systems. As part of the "Changing Lives, Building Futures" campaign, donors were able to support the "green" construction of the building through various pedges and donations.

The 2002 Lanthorn gave seniors the opportunity to offer the underclassmen some fun and practical advice. The advice included to always avoid the ginko berries and to make sure to take advantage of an internship.
September 11, 2001, Monuments & memorials, Pillars of strength, Susquehanna University
In observance of the events of September 11, 2001, a multifaith gathering was held in the Weber Chapel Auditorium on the first anniversary of the attacks. Later that same year, during Homecoming, a memorial honoring Susquehanna alumni who died in the terrorist attacks was dedicated. The "Pillars of Strength" stand between Hassinger Hall and the Blough-Weis Library and overlook Amos Alonzo Stagg Football Field and Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium.

Some of the events that members of the Student Liberals Activists and Progressives (S.L.A.P.) participate in are voter registration drives on campus, the sale of reusable coffee mugs to promote fair trade, and debates with the S.U.
