The band "Faculty Lounge" performed in a charity concert on campus to help with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The band was comprised of four Susquehanna University faculty members. The concert raised $1,400 and that amount was matched by the University.

In 2004, Snyder County was declared a disaster area after Hurricane Ivan drenched the area with heavy rains. Susquehanna University students helped with the Red Cross relief efforts by distributing food and helping with the removal of debris.

In August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina, one of the largest natural disasters in the history of the United Sates, devastated the Gulf Coast. To help victims of the storm, Susquehanna University responded by organizing a Hurricane Relief Team made up of students, faculty and staff. The photos shown are the Hurricane Relief Team hard at work.
Tau Kappa Epsilon, Community service, Hurricanes, Susquehanna University
In August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina, one of the costliest and deadliest hurricanes in history, hit the United States, leaving behind mass destruction. To help aid victims of this catastrophe, brothers of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity asked for donations while standing outside of various local restaurants. Their goal was to raise $2,000.

In the fall of 2005, the Volunteer Programs welcomed its new coordinator, Eric Lassahn. Some of his responsibilities included organizing blood drives, holiday food and clothing drives and planning Volunteer Recognition Day. He also developed a volunteer packet to help students organize and plan their volunteer experiences.
