Welcome to the Keystone College 1868- Present Collection, a part of the POWER Library: PA Photos and Documents. This collection contains materials pertaining to the history of Keystone College from its inception as Keystone Academy in 1868 as the first higher educational institution in Northeast PA.

Baptist clergyman and first ordained minister in Scranton, built a combined log church and house near here in 1795. There he preached and held services. He was born in England, 1749, and died in Scott Township in 1816.

Built in 1938, Capwell formerly housed elementary and advanced chemistry laboratories, darkrooms, a shop, physics and engineering laboratories, a large auditorium lecture room, and classrooms. Capwell was renovated in the 1960's, doubling in size with the addition of two wings. Named in honor of Dr. Daniel A. In 2011; Davis Hall is the home of one of three Independent Living Communities here on campus. Keystone Commons, 39 College Ave and Davis Hall empower students to be leaders in their building, their campus, and their community. It houses approximately 10 female students and consists of 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a common living room, and a full kitchen. Students in Davis Hall must have completed 30 credits, maintain a minimum 2.75 grade point average, and be in good social standing with the College.

Built in 1910, the Art Center previously served as a Gymnasium and Student Center. The old indoor track can still be seen around the second floor. In this photograph it was still the Student Union Building.

The original Keystone Bell was installed in 1894 in 1977 it was rehung on front campus as a memorial to Sam Lilly who was an employee of the institution for 64 years.
