This collection contains materials pertaining to the history of Keystone College from its inception as Keystone Academy in 1868 as the first higher educational institution in Northeast PA.

Gambal Athletic Center, Keystone College, Gambal Athletic Center, Ground breaking
Ground breaking ceremony for the new athletic center. Gambal Athletic Center was built in 1987 and dedicated to Sergius Gambal on October 28, 1988. Sergius (Serge) Gambal was born in Old Forge, Pa., and served in the Army during World War II in the European theater. After the war, he graduated from what was then called Keystone Junior College, Gambal graduated in 1947.

Ceremony for the ground breaking of the new campus center. Built in 1970, the Hibbard Campus Center was named for trustee and former college president John B. Hibbard. This large brick building accommodates the campus bookstore, dining services, post office, college radio station, Evans Hall, student activities, career development center, food lab, Chef’s Table Restaurant, and intramural sports and recreation office.

Moffat Hall was built in 1970 and named for benefactors Robert Y. and Grace M. Moffat. With a capacity of approximately 140 students, it is the home of Keystone College’s First Year Experience Community.
