A typescript from Frank E. Alden to Andrew Carnegie concerning the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Main Library building in Oakland a section of Pittsburgh, Pa. Alden informs Carnegie that he has a large drawing of the front of Carnegie Library, Forbes Street elevation, that he would like to show him in connection with a model, presumably for changes to the building; On Alden and Harlow Architects, Farmers Bank Building, Pittsburgh, Pa.

A typescript letter from William Nimick Frew to Andrew Carnegie regarding the addition to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Main Library building. Mr. Frew first expresses his disappointment in not being able to attend the annual meeting of the Washington Board. He then goes on to explain that bids were opened and contracts awarded for the interior wall decoration of the Library extension. He expects the ""big building"" to be closed in by Christmas and that much of the interior is completed, except for the decoration and furnishing. He hopes to have it ready for occupancy by November 1, 1906. On W. N. Frew, Attorney at Law stationary.

Frew explains that bids will be submitted for doing the excavation and footing courses for the foundation of the extension of the Main Library building in Oakland (Pittsburgh, Pa.). Frew then expresses his delight at Carnegie's approval of the selection of Arthur Arton Hamerschlag for the head of the Carnegie Technical School (Carnegie Institute of Technology); On William N.
