A photograph showing two medals pertaining to the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York. The first bears the inscription "In honor of the guests who attended the dedicatory ceremonies on the opening of the building of the Chamber of Commerce." The second bears the inscriptions "Ingenio suo urbis benefactor et rei publicae conservator" and "Abram Stevens Hewitt" and features a portrait of Hewitt, who had been an industrialist and inventor, as well as a U.S. Congressman and Mayor of New York. He was also a founder and trustee of the Carnegie Institution.
