A photograph of the front view of an oak and silver casket for a burgess ticket from the Magistrates, Town Council and Community of Dornoch, Scotland, admitting and receiving Andrew Carnegie as a burgess freeman and guild member of the "City and Royal Burgh of Dornoch," for his efforts in the "spread of knowledge and literature among the people both in this country and in America." The casket has a silver engraved scene of a building in the middle of the box, silver ornamentation on the side and a silver plaque on the top of the box with engraved writing presenting to Andrew Carnegie his admission as a burgess of the Royal Burgh of Dornoch.
