Photographs of a handwritten document and typewritten letter sent to Andrew Carnegie, from the City of New York's, Office of the Mayor. The photographs include a copy of a resolution of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment of the City of New York, dated December, 26, 1901. The Board of Estimate and Apportionment of the City of New York's resolution expresses gratitude to Andrew Carnegie for his donation of funds to be used for the building of 65 free branch libraries. The resolution was adopted by the Municipal Assembly of the City of New York during its meeting, held on December 31st, 1901 and approved by the Mayor, January 14, 1902. In the letter dated February 13, 1902, the Mayor explains his forwarding of a copy of the resolution and he explains his signing of it. The document includes a vignette on page 1, some decorative initials, signatures and a seal at the end of the document. Caption title.; On 4 cardboard mounts: 26 x 35 cm
