Typescript letter from William Nimick Frew to James Bertram concerning a letter and newspaper clipping forwarded by the latter to Samuel Harden Church, describing a contract between the trustees of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Grand Army Post of the Republic, Thomas Espey Post no. 153, for a military museum. Frew states that no contract was executed or even suggested, as the trustees have no right to enter into such a contract. Furthermore, Frew asks Bertram to note that the Board of Trustees, of which Church is an officer, has nothing to do with apportioning of space in the library.

Frew asks Bertram to bring to the attention of Andrew Carnegie the letter he sent to Carnegie dated October 27th concerning property for the proposed Homewood Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
