The organ recitals and care of the institute building are mentioned briefly, and gratitude is expressed for coverage of the Institute by local newspapers. The organ recitals and care of the institute building are mentioned briefly, and gratitude is expressed for coverage of the Institute by local newspapers. William Nimick Frew's service is acknowledged, as well as the work of the Board of Trustees. The revisions include acknowledgement of the election of Samuel Harden Church as president of the Institute and Mrs. Carnegie's regrets that she is unable to attend due to illness.

An unsigned typescript letter presumably from James Bertram, Andrew Carnegie's personal secretary, to Samuel Church, Secretary of the Carnegie Institute Board of Trustees, acknowledging receipt of Church's April 23rd letter and informing him that Mr. Carnegie is leaving for Europe in two days and has no time to prepare a letter, presumably for the upcoming Founder's Day celebration. A handwritten notation on the letter says, ""Founder's Day.""

A typescript letter from President, presumably Samuel Harden Church, president of the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Institute, to J.A. Poynton, Andrew Carnegie's personal secretary, informing Poynton that the DeVinne Press has sent 500 copies of the Founder's Day book to Andrew Carnegie on June 20, 1914 via the S.S. California that will sail directly to Glasgow, Scotland. Church states that ""this is a slow boat but hope that the books will reach you soon"". At bottom of the page is typed: dictated.

A typescript letter from Samuel Harden Church, Secretary of the Board of Trustees Carnegie Institute, to James Bertram, personal secretary of Andrew Carnegie. In the letter Mr. Church explains to Mr. Bertram that he has asked Pittsburgh Printing Company to forward twenty-five copies of the Founder's day book for 1903 to Mr. Carnegie. Mr. Church goes on to mention that he is going to send out copies to individuals and institutions that were on a revised mailing list that Mr. Bertram sent to him last spring. On letterhead with drawing of the Carnegie Institute.

A signed typescript letter from Samuel Church to Louise Carnegie expressing the hope that she and her husband will be able to come to Pittsburgh to take part in the upcoming Founder's Day celebration. Church notes that the principal speaker, Governor Hadley of Missouri, would be pleased to share the platform with Mr. Carnegie. A handwritten penciled notation on the letter indicates that attendance is impossible due to an upcoming trip to St. Louis. An unrelated (?) handwritten penciled notation on the back of the letter says, ""W.H. Kohlsach (spelling?), Holland.""

A typescript letter from W.N. Frew to Andrew Carnegie stating that he received the second telegram from him and asks Carnegie to write confirming his consent to the preparation of the plans (presumably the plans for the extension of the Carnegie Institute). After a meeting of the ""Building Committee"", Frew states that he was instructed to contract with Alden and Harlow for the preliminary studies and working drawings. Frew assures Carnegie that he only plans to pay for what work the architects are instructed to do on the plans. Mr. Frew then explains in more detail about the work the architects will do. He concludes with mentioning (presumably) the Carnegie International and Founder's Day.
