A typescript letter from P. Secretary, presumably James Bertram, to William A. Magee, mayor of the City of Pittsburgh, Pa., concerning Caspar P. Koch, city organist, and the ""Allegheny Organ"". In this letter Bertram states that Carnegie asked him to reply to Magee's recent note, presumably dated, November 21, 1911, ""that he has given more than 5000 organs but has not undertaken to maintain them"". Carnegie hopes that Allegheny City will ""appreciate their music"" and ""will not allow the organ to fall into disrepair"". Mr. Carnegie states he ""could not break his rule"" to repair the organ because he would then have to cover repairs for over 5,000 organs. Signed P. Secretary. ""With Pbg (Pittsburgh?) Institute pprs (papers?)"" written in pencil at the top of the letter.
