A photograph of the front view of an ornamental silver gilt casket for a burgess ticket from the County Borough of Wigan, England admitting Andrew Carnegie "as honorary freeman of the County Borough of Wigan" for his provision of free public libraries in the United Kingdom, establishment of the Civil Hero Fund and his gift of a public library at Pemberton. The box has ornamental decorations, engravings, and a portrait of Andrew Carnegie in the middle of the box with two paintings of buildings on either side of the portrait.
