A typescript letter presumably from James Bertram, Andrew Carnegie's personal secretary, to Ellery Sedgwick, editor of Leslie's Monthly Magazine, acknowledging receipt of Sedgwick's November 9th letter and reporting that, though gratified by Sedgwick's request that he write a magazine article about the Carnegie Institute Department of Fine Arts, Mr. Carnegie feels that a better person to write the article would be Museum Director John Beatty.
