Bertram, James, 1872-1934--Correspondence, Frew, William Nimick--Correspondence, Military museums--Pennsylvania--Pittsburgh, Library buildings--Pennsylvania--Pittsburgh, Grand Army of the Republic. Thomas Espey Post no. 153, Oakland (Pittsburgh, Pa.)--Buildings, structures, etc.
Typescript letter from William Nimick Frew to James Bertram concerning a letter and newspaper clipping forwarded by the latter to Samuel Harden Church, describing a contract between the trustees of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Grand Army Post of the Republic, Thomas Espey Post no. 153, for a military museum. Frew states that no contract was executed or even suggested, as the trustees have no right to enter into such a contract. Furthermore, Frew asks Bertram to note that the Board of Trustees, of which Church is an officer, has nothing to do with apportioning of space in the library.
