A typescript copy of a letter from Andrew Carnegie to Samuel Harden Church in response to a letter from Samuel Harden Church dated June 6, 1901, concerning speakers for Founder's Day 1901. Carnegie writes about potential speakers including, Mr. Balfour, President Grover Cleveland and Prime Minister Laurier of Canada. Mr. Carnegie states that he plans to attend the opening of the new building (an addition to Carnegie Institute). Carnegie then goes on to write about how he is watching the papers ""anxiously"" for any progress that is being made in ""condemning"" the ground for a new building.
